I have a '92 Elite 80 that my daughter uses more than I use my Savage. I have a service manual from the '80s and like the Savage, the machine has not changed over the years.
I am in Dallas on business so I will have to get back to you until this coming Friday night or Saturday.
It uses the same oil you would use in your Savage. The filter is just a little screen and is not worth taking the engine apart to get to. The oil should be changed every 1000 miles. I'll get back to you on the quantity. The quantity of transmission fluid is like 2oz. I use premiumun gas because it uses so little I figure it is worth it.
We have had the bike for 2 years now. She has put
almost 3000 mile on it(about 9000 miles total on the bike). We just replaced the front brake pads and the speedometer cable broke recently). Last year I replaced the rear tire. The baffles in the exhaust are rusted and it makes rattling noise, but it is not worth replacing.
top speed for her is 45-50mph. For me, it is 35mph.
